Mark Santillano

As a performer Mark Santillano has worked with Indianapolis’ Dance Kaleidoscope and the internationally acclaimed Pilobolus Dance Theatre. With Pilobolus, Mark toured the world and was soloist, dance-captain, choreographic collaborator, and master class teacher. Mark is also a member of Actors Equity Association who performed in the national tours of The King and I, West Side Story, and A Chorus Line. As a choreographer, Mark received the Corbin Patrick award for his work at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre. His choreography was also honored at the American College Dance Festival Association’s National Gala Concert. He has also choreographed for many dance companied throughout the United States. In 1999, Mark and his wife, Solveig, formed SoMar Dance Works, which recently performed in Gothenburg Sweden. As a teacher, this St. Louis native has served as Artist in Residence at his alma mater, Southwest Missouri State University, and is currently an Assistant Professor at Mercyhurst College where he teaches modern, jazz, tap, musical theatre dance, choreography, and Dance Appreciation. Mark received his Master’s from Wesleyan University in 2005. When not in the studio, Mr. Santillano serves on the board of directors of the Erie Dance Consortium, and the American College Dance Festival Association.
